Michele's Food Blog Makeover

My friend Michele is a seriously exceptional cook. Luckily for me (and anyone else who loves good food), she shares her recipes and secrets on her blog Sweet Luvin' in the Kitchen.

I was so glad she asked me to design her blog for her, especially when we decided she'd pay me in food. She's got me, along with half the city, hooked on her homemade wheat bread.

Thanks for letting me design your blog, Michele. And thank you so much for the delicious food!

P.S. The header image is her own photograph of her Summer Berry Sweet Pizza.

Maren's 1st Birthday

We had a simple, but fun, birthday party for Maren on November 3rd.

First, we went to the dinosaur museum, which she loved.

Ivy and Maren's adorable cousin came along and made it even more fun.

We continued the cheesecake tradition that we did for Ivy's first birthday (and that Jared did for many of his childhood birthdays).

Grandma and Grandpa Campbell, along with several other family members, joined us for the party.

Married 43 years. Aren't they cute together?

Oh, how we love her!

Appa & Momo Costumes

I'm not trying to make a tradition of dressing like Anime characters, I swear. Ivy just happens to love anime, and right now she loves Avatar: The Last Airbender (I'm not gonna lie. I think it's pretty cool too--the cartoon, not the movie). So, I made Appa and Momo costumes for Ivy and Maren.

I've never sewn clothes, so I wasn't sure if I could do it. I certainly didn't do it perfectly, but the costumes worked out well enough, I think.

I used these pictures to make the costumes as accurate as I could. For those who haven't seen the show, Appa is supposed to be a flying bison. Momo is a flying lemur.

We really should have gotten better pictures, but we were too interested in candy.
