The Liebster Blog Award is given from one blogger to another beloved blogger with fewer than 200 followers.
Rules:
1. Choose five up and coming blogs to give the award to. Must have under 200 followers.
2. Show your thanks to the blogger who gave you the award by linking back to them.
3. Post the award on your blog.
4. List the blogs you gave the award to with links to their sites. Leave a comment on their blog to let them know they have received the award.
5. Share five random facts about yourself.
Since I've been loving Michelle and Ashley's A to Z posts, I first thought of them, but then decided that I would choose some bloggers I don't already mention frequently (to keep it more fair, you know?). But you should still check out their blogs if you haven't already.
Without further ado, here are my five Liebster award recipients:
Okay, blogging friends! If you want to accept your award, then pass it on. If you don't pass it on, your dead relatives will come back from the grave and haunt your posterity until the end of time. Plus, you'll get a really bad blister next time you wear your favorite shoes. It's true. You know how these chain things work . . .
Oh yeah, five random things about myself. I already do that every blog post, but I guess I'll do it again.
1. When it rains, I'm tempted to lick the sidewalk because I MUST taste my favorite smell. Sometimes I've given in to the temptations. It's raining today . . .
2. I want to hike Mt. Kilimanjaro some day. I guess I better start by exercising once in a while.
3. I learned to read the Russian alphabet when I was fourteen, but I know hardly any Russian vocabulary, so it doesn't do me much good.
4. I once saw a sign on a street shop in Mexico that said, "Under 1 Million Tacos Sold!" Maybe my blog subheader should be "Under 1 Million Readers Sold!" It might trick someone, right?
5. When people meet me, they're usually under the impression that I'm a lot more serious than I really am. I can't tell you how many times I've said something in a group of new acquaintances that I thought would be hilarious, but no one realized it was a joke. Hmm . . . maybe I'm just not that funny.
"One Fish" has been blogging regularly for over four years. She is a devoted mother and is currently hoping to adopt. If you ever want ideas for art projects for kids, she's the best resource I know of.
I just recently discovered Joseph's blog. He's a creative writer and, well, a nerd. His posts always make me laugh out loud. Les Miserables fans will especially appreciate this post about an unfortunate first date experience.
(Hey, the first two start with O! Maybe this was meant to be.)
This isn't actually the name of Jen's blog, since her official name for it right now is "." (yep, just a period). But I thought this was fitting because Jen really does dream of changing the world, and you know what? I think she actually will.
Lauren just resumed blogging again, so I hope she keeps up with it. Everyone who knows Lauren loves her intensely. She is witty and thoughtful and hilarious.
This blog is brand-spanking-new this month, but I have high hopes for it. She's participating in the A to Z challenge as well, which is how I found it. She's fortunate enough to live in Hawaii, so even if she just posts pictures taken from her front yard, it will entertain me.

Well, there you have it. Thanks for thinking of me, Shauna. I am forever in your debt. If you ever need ice cream in the middle of the night, I will drive up to Oregon and get it for you. It may arrive a few days late though.

Thank you, Lisa. :) I am totally honored.
ReplyDeleteHello, Lisa! "Under 1 Million Readers Sold!" is brilliant!!! I think it would probably work!
ReplyDeleteI have the opposite problem than your #5. I might say something serious (nothing too serious but not anything laughable either) and people laugh as if I said something amusing. I don't get it! It's kind of annoying actually!
Congrats on your award. I liked hearing your 5 things and getting to know you better!! Have a lovely week and happy A to Z!!
LOL .. Im going to hold you to that.
ReplyDeleteBecause really, who doesnt love themselves
some ice cream in the middle of the night!
xxx
Have a good night!
I am the woman formerly, and presently, known as ".", and I'd just like to thank Lisa for helping me realize one of my life-long dreams as a blogger.
ReplyDeleteWho could forget the wonderful dirt tasting day we had in Lake Powell? Well I certainly had, until now. The strange things we'll do with friends, or by ourselves.
ReplyDeleteI remember sidewalks being the best as a kid. Who drinks from cups on a hot summer's day anyway? weirdos, that's who.

Mmmm. Sandstone is the best. I would have forgotten that we did that too! Thanks for bring it up, Megs.
DeleteAw! I'm with you on number one. I love the smell of rain.
